When traveling, whether short or long, the bag you bring is very important.  You might want a bag that can handle a two-week-long trip, a duffel bag for a weekend getaway, or even one to take to the gym.

Well, the Piorama A10 Adjustable duffle bag does all that and more!

It can transform from a regular duffle bag to one with backpack straps and can even double its size from its smallest configuration.

So let’s get into why this bag should definitely be on your next trip!

Size

Size can be one of the most important qualities in a bag. And this one basically has it all.

The A10 can be transitioned between 31L, 46.5L, and to a spacious 62L.  There are two jaw strings located at either end of the bag which allow you to easily control the size.  Loosening the jaw string will make the bag larger by an estimated 15 liters.

If you are looking to store the A10 somewhere, the bag can be condensed to a small disc size shape.

And can be extended all the way up to 62 liters.

If you are looking to shrink the bag, you can do so with some of your stuff still inside.  However, I would recommend taking everything out before shrinking the bag to your desired size.

Carrying Configurations

There are two main options for carrying this bag – the backpack carry and the shoulder carry.

Backpack Carry

The A10 comes with two additional straps that clip onto the back, forming a backpack strap shape. At first, you wouldn’t think that the backpack configuration would be that comfortable.  After all, your back is pressed up against a zipper.  But I was genuinely surprised to find out that the comfort level against my back and shoulders was fine.

The bag pictured is at medium size capacity.

One thing I learned was that you have to attach the back straps to the outer clips in order for the “backpack format” to fit right and feel like an actual backpack.

Shoulder Carry

Besides carrying the A10 like a backpack, you can also attach an additional shoulder strap (that’s included), and carry it as a shoulder duffle.

Here the shoulder strap is attached diagonally.

When attaching the strap, you have four options to choose from, two on each end of the zippers.  There are two ways to attach the shoulder strap.  You can have it attached to the two same-side clips, or attach it diagonally.

I have heard that when attaching it diagonally, the bag stays more balanced and can wrap around your hips/torso in a better way.

Pros/Extra Features

Out of all of the features the Adjustable Bag A10 has, I would have to say my favorites are the tiny pouches where the extra jaw string can go into, the massive sizing range the bag has, the grab handles, and the additional pouches on the outside and inside.

The tiny pouches just make the bag have a neater appearance and allow it so the jaw strings don’t get stuck to anything when on the move.

Tiny pouches on both ends of the bag allow you to tuck in excess jaw strings.

The sizing range is great and is flexible with your needs.  Whether you’re packing for a weekend getaway or going out of town for a week or two, this bag has you covered.

The grab handles come in handy when you’re on the move. If you don’t have time to grab the shoulder strap or you just need to throw the bag in the car, the grab handles are a nice little feature that make the A10 even more complete.

Lastly, there are 3 additional pouches (1 on the outside, and 2 on the inside), where you can store little items like chargers, pens, lens caps, etc.

Cons

That being said, there are a few things that I wish could be improved.  One complaint of mine is that if you don’t fill the bag completely, it will tend to droop outwards and feel awkward to carry (especially when carrying it in backpack mode).

Another aspect is that when the bag is compressed, or at least in its medium size, you have to cinch both ends of the bag and tuck them in.  This means that when you are putting anything inside the bag, the cinched ends poke in from the inside on both ends.  This makes it slightly annoying when trying to place stuff in, but is not a huge deal.

Final Thoughts

Overall, after using the Adjustable Bag A10 for the past few months, and even bringing it with me to college, I can honestly say this bag is a great accessory for anyone traveling and looking to upgrade their old duffel bag!
